Australian beauty junkies – rejoice! MECCA Maxima have released their own in-house brand ‘MECCA MAX’, offering over 200 products covering eyes, face, lips, and tools, with prices ranging from $5-$45. It’s their very own version of Sephora Collection, and if Sephora Collection has taught me anything, it’s that some products can be misses, while others can be total hits. I was lucky enough to receive 6 products from the range, and I’ve been putting them to the test for the last couple of weeks. Time to share my thoughts and tell you what products you should definitely grab, and what you can easily skip.
Almost every blogger I know has raved about Pixi Beauty at some point – this UK brand is very well loved. If you’re remotely interested in skin care, you would have heard of the cult favourite Glow Tonic, which has a seriously loyal fan following. When I received some of their ‘skintreats’ to try, I was delighted but tried to go into the testing stage without high expectations – the direct result of too much hype… so are they worth the hype? Will I become loyal to Pixi too?
I’m coming to realise that a lot of people hate blush… yes, apparently that’s a thing. Blasphemous, but it’s a thing. To me, blush is a part of my makeup routine I never miss – I love picking one to wear everyday. Then it dawned on me, that blush can be daunting – from choosing the right shade through to knowing how to apply it. So, let’s start with finding the right shade – if you’re on the olive side of things, or you simply want some ace blush recommendations, then you’re in for a treat!
If you could package up a summer glow and make it into a palette, the end result would look a lot like the new BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette*. BECCA Cosmetic’s latest collaboration with celebrity Chrissy Teigen has sent the internet into a frenzy, and it’s so easy to see why. Rose gold, warm goodness: come to mumma! Want to know if you need it in your life or not? Then read on!
If there’s one thing that I’ve missed, it’s fries (I’m on a diet, hot chippies are my weakness). I’ve also missed blogging and regularly posting on Instagram – it’s been a while, guys! The past few months have been crazy. Three months ago I moved back to Melbourne, and life has been overwhelming. I realised that no matter what, I need to stop losing focus on my hobbies and doing the things that I love. It’s so easy to put yourself last, don’t do it girl! Anyway, no better way to get back into the swing of things than to share my beauty favourites! Let’s get started.
Are you rolling your eyes at the title of this post? Stop it! Keep an open mind and bare with me… hair contouring is a thing, and it’s a good thing. Franck Provost Paris reached out to tell me about their new tecnique called ‘Indian Sun’, and as soon as they mentioned it was low-maintenance and natural looking, I quickly made an appointment to try it out.
Nothing like the prospect of a fresh start (i.e. the new year), to get your butt into gear and do what you’ve been putting off for months or perhaps years. That’s right, it’s time to declutter your makeup collection! You’re either a) excited at the thought of passing on products that are unloved/binning items that have been breeding bacteria for yonks; or b) you’re hyperventilating at the thought of letting go of your precious makeup. Whatever may be the case, here are 5 tips that will make this arduous task a lot easier! It just takes some quick decision making and a dash of ruthlessness.
Hard to believe 2017 is around the corner. Another year done and dusted, another year of amazing beauty discoveries – and I couldn’t keep them all to myself! I always look forward to summing up of what I’ve loved the most throughout the year, and if I can do one last bit of enabling and recommend some ace products, then I’m all for it. Before we begin I thought I’d clarify that these aren’t all products released in 2016, just products that I purchased/gave more love to in the year. Now let’s get into it – grab a cuppa, it’s a long one!
If there is one thing I appreciate, it’s a product that can offer you multiple uses. That superstar in your handbag that you can rely on in different scenarios and beauty needs. Naturally, when a new makeup product has ‘multi-tasking’ in its name, I am all ears – show me what you’ve got! Add the word ‘perfecting’ and now you’ve got me really excited. This was the case when the new BECCA Cosmetics Multi-Tasking Perfecting Powders* arrived at my doorstep. BECCA says you can use them as a foundation, to highlight and contour, set your face or to touch it up on the go. Are they really a ‘do-it-all’?
You said it would be different this year, that you would be organised. That you’d beat the rush, the frantic search for a car park, the passive-aggressive elbow bumping. Alas, it’s Christmas Eve – reality sinks in – you have exactly 24 hours to finish your shopping for the happiest day of the year, yet you’re stressed and struggling, and wishing Christmas didn’t come so quickly… and you love Christmas! If this sounds awfully familiar, you need a game plan – and I’m here to help. Ten gift ideas for the beauty lover in your life, you’re welcome.
