Oh my goodness – I feel like I just posted my March favourites yesterday. What has happened?! *Insert month has flown by laments*. Seriously though, my tiny little blog has been live for a month now, and it’s been so fun, amazing and rewarding. Quick thank you to all of you who have taken the time to read my babbles and leave me comment! Here’s the créme de la créme of beauty products for the month of April.
This baby is almost empty, not because I want to get rid of it ASAP but because I use this just about every single day. This primer preps my skin for whatever base I choose, and it does it well; it seems to work with just about any foundation, BB cream, tinted moisturiser, and on its own. Whatever I put on it, it makes it last longer and sit on the skin a lot nicer. If I want to wear it on its own, it helps brighten up the complexion in the most natural way, evens out my skin tone and minimises redness (not a huge amount but enough). It can be expensive, but I’ve had this bottle for a year and a half and it’s still pumping.
Affordable, gentle, natural. Witch Hazel was the first toner I ever used when I started to give some importance to skin care back in my early teens, and I’ve gone through bottles of this stuff. It helps keep my skin smooth, soft and clear, and controls any excess oils. This stuff is amazing and I’m glad we’ve reconnected!
Of course, another Bourjois foundation in a monthly favourites. I purchased this during the Priceline 40% off sale and I am so glad I did. It’s gorgeously dewy, natural looking, just the perfect foundation for every day use! I’ve been reaching for this over my Bourgeois CC cream and I’ve been enjoying it just as much. And, it’s true what they say – it is very similar to Chanel Vitalumière Aqua for a fraction of the price. Bonus.
This baby has been making the rounds lately, and for good reason. Mine has a dent in it, because I can’t seem to put it down! This cream to powder highlight is so inexpensive and gets the job done. Mine is in the champagne shade with golden speckles. It’s quite pigmented and easy to blend, but sets quite quickly. It lasts all day on my cheekbones without going patchy or fading. A wonderful cheap thrill.
The name says it all, this is the perfect nude for me. It’s got a peachy brown undertone, it’s super creamy, long lasting, comfortable to wear and glides on like a dream. It hasn’t left my handbag! I have collected a few more of these and will have a review up soon.
MAC Spirit, $36
I’m completely, unhealthily obsessed with lipsticks that have a warm, brown undertone. I’ve collected quite a few in the past few months, but this one is a definite stand-out. It’s perfect. It’s a Satin finish but it’s actually more on the matte side, as there’s no visible sheen to it once on the lips. Shoutout to my friend Sorren from Young Mum Stuff who convinced me to get it!
Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium EDP, 90ml $175
This is the most stunning, sexy and elegant scent I’ve had the pleasure of owning in a long time. I got this from le boyfriend late November last year, but I’ve been reaching for it the most this month, since it’s finally a little bit cooler in North Queensland. It has everything I personally love in a perfume – notes of coffee, vanilla and patchouli (around 80% of the perfumes I own have vanilla and patchouli in them), accompanied by pink pepper, orange blossom, jasmine and pear. It’s very long lasting with a moderate sillage, and just look at the gorgeous bottle. So modern and feminine! No surprise I fell in love with this.
That’s it for my April Favourites. What have you been loving in the past month? Share with me below!
