I love to wear pastel hues all year-around, but if you are someone who loves to swap nail shades to suit the seasons, then Essie’s 2015 Spring Collection* will have everything you need for the warmer weather. Nude, pastel and vibrant hues make up a gorgeous palette that will take you right through to summer.
I hope you guys don’t mind the picture-heavy post – I got a little bit
artistic carried away trying to photograph the nail polish dripping! Also, I’m wearing Picked Perfect.
There are six shades, pictured in order below:
- Perennial Chic – A neutral pale peach.
- Picked Perfect – An almost caramel brown-peach.
- Flowerista – A vibrant plum with red undertones.
- Pedal Pushers – A lilac-grey with red and blue undertones.
- Blossom Dandy – A light blue with a touch of mint.
- Garden Variety – A deep teal.
I hadn’t used Essie nail polishes in a few years, but they seemed a lot better than what I remember. The formula is a good consistency, not too thin but not too thick – making it super easy to work with. All polishes have a glossy finish and require 2-3 coats for full opacity, and they take around 8-10 minutes to be completely dry. I got 2-3 days out of all polishes without a top coat before they started chipping, which is fairly common for me.
Picked Perfect is my favourite of the bunch – such a beautiful nude for light to medium skin tones! I suspect when I get a little bit of a tan it won’t be so flattering on me anymore (it will probably blend in with my skin colour). My second favourite, which took me by surprise, is Flowerista – I don’t own anything like it in my stash, it’s such a vibrant, happy shade! When I received the collection I was most excited for Pedal Pushers, as I am very into blue/lilac shades at the moment. Unfortunately for me, this shade pulls more grey than lilac which is a little bit disappointing. Overall, I think the shade selection is stunning and there is something to suit everyone.
If you want to get your hands on any of these, hurry! They are only available until the end of the month. Essie polishes retail for $16.95 each and are available at Priceline.
What are some of your favourite spring nail polishes?
