We all love a good multi-tasker, but when it comes to beauty products, generally I gear myself for disappointment – they couldn’t possibly live up to all those claims. Well, I have put aside the sceptic in me and have been trying out the newly revamped Sally Hansen Complete Care 7-in-1 Nail Treatment* as part of a Beauty Directory trial. Yep, 7-in-1 sounds very promising, doesn’t it? But when it comes to my nails, I need all the help I can get. Flaky, dull, thin, very visible ridges. Tick, tick, tick. I’m the perfect candidate. Could this be the answer?
This treatment couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve just moved houses (there are still 2489759 boxes left to unpack), my diet has been awful as of late, and all the packing, cleaning, and unpacking have taken their toll. My nails are in absolute need for some TLC. Sally Hansen is a brand I’ve been using for as long as I can remember, and it’s a brand I trust, so the stakes are very high here. The product claims to help restore dry, brittle nails making them visibly healthier and beautiful in just 3 days. The formula contains avocado oil, sea salt, pomegranate extract and calcium.
As for the 7-in-1, it claims to act as: A base & top coat, growth & strengthener, ridge-filler, brightener and be ultra-moisturising. I really like that the treatment can be used alone or with colour nail polish as a base coat or as a protective top coat. That instantly eliminates having two use two additional products in the healthy nail regime – perfect for the busy gal. I likey.
The consistency is runny but so easy and quick to apply thanks to its medium sized brush, and it dries within seconds, leaving a smooth and shiny finish. Upon first application my nails looked visibly healthier and brighter, to the point where I didn’t rush to put nail polish on them… that’s a feat in itself.
So far I really like what I see, but I don’t want to jump the gun as of yet – I’ve only been trying this treatment for the past week. I have only just tried it with nail polish for the first time yesterday, and I’m happy that when I use it as a top coat, it doesn’t lift the colour/disturb the nail polish. I will keep a close eye on my manicure to see if it aids in making it last longer.
I am looking forward to keeping up with it and seeing some results – although I’m impressed with it so far, it’s too early to tell if all promises will be fulfilled, so watch this space!
The Complete Care 7-in-1 Nail Treatment retails for $19.95 (although I found it for $13.99 on the Chemist Warehouse website) and is available now from all usual Sally Hansen retailers.
What’s your favourite nail treatment? Are you planning on trying this one?
P.S.: Sorry for the quality of these photos – my camera and usual props are all packed up still! xx
