The months keep rolling by, and June has already turned into July. I don’t want to talk about it… but I do have a lot to talk about beauty wise! There were only a couple of new additions into my collection, but they were solid performers; the rest were pre-existing loves I had neglected but managed to re-discover. That’s the beauty of blogging – rotating through products and falling back in love with oldies but goodies!
I won’t ramble on about how fantastic this foundation is – I already have done in great detail so here. This has been my base of choice since acquiring it early June, especially on those days I favoured fuller coverage. It’s weightless, long-lasting, and controls oils so well. You need to try it!
I got this baby from Sephora in Sydney back in March and I promised myself I would stash it away until I finished one of my other open BB/CC creams. You know a product is totally worth it when you’re a bit sad you’re almost out; so needless to say, I will be purchasing the full size soon. This CC cream has skin-beneficial ingredients and makes my skin look so healthy and beautiful. It provides medium to full coverage, feels super comfortable and moisturising on the skin and wears quite well through the day. I will review this in more detail soon!
This contour and highlight palette is all you will ever need to enhance your features, carve out razor-sharp cheekbones (if you’re inclined that way) or simply liven up and warm up the face. These powders are buttery smooth, blend out effortlessly and suit a range of skin tones. I’ve been completely obsessed since it came into my life!
This is one of those products I wasn’t necessarily “dying” to try, but purchased anyway. Naturally, I didn’t pay much attention to it for a good month after buying it, but I totally grew to love it in the past month. This creamy bronzer is unlike anything I’ve tried; it’s the most subtle, natural-looking bronzing product in my humble opinion! It just blends away beautifully. It can be a bit deceitful in its gorgeous packaging, in that you can never really tell what this product does unless you try it on the face. It’s not a complete must-have, but if you feel like splurging and trying something different from the run-of-the-mill pressed bronzers, then this is worth every penny. Plus, I’ve used it LOTS and you can barely tell it’s been used (did I mention it has 30g of product?). Score.
MAC Perfect Topping Mineralize Skinfinish
I bought this because of its stunning pattern… I couldn’t walk past this gorgeous highlighter! Admittedly, the more visually appealing and unique the product, the less I want to use it and ruin it. But once I eventually got the courage to dip my brush in it, I couldn’t stop. It’s a golden, peachy, warm highlighter with a frosted sheen, but it’s not chunky or glittery by any stretch of the imagination. It’s customisable in a way, because you can go subtle, or build it up to be a bit more potent. I actually like this a little bit more than Soft & Gentle (yes, I went there) and I’ve been using it everyday. It was limited edition, but it has come back a few times in different collections and will hopefully be back again.
This was a Jaclyn Hill inspired purchase that I had my eye on for a long time. I’ve raved about Becca blushes before, and one thing remains true – they’re some of the best blushes I’ve ever tried! Everyone always hears about the Shimmering Skin Perfectors, but the blushes deserve just as much recognition. The formula is ah-mazing. Wild Honey is a warm, nude, peachy bronze shade and it just brings life to my cheeks! I haven’t been able to put it down.
This multi-tasking brush is all kinds of amazing. I’ve been using it for concealer, foundation, but mostly I’ve been pairing it up with my Soleil Tan de Chanel and it blends this cream product seamlessly.
I was obsessed with my Zoeva 102 Silk Finish Brush, but then this came along and I forgot all about it! I’ve been pairing it up with the IT Cosmetics CC cream to create a flawless base. It’s a favourite of many people for a reason, and that is, it blends anything away to perfection and doesn’t soak up lots of product.
The definition of decadence. This is, without a doubt, the best smelling hand cream/body lotion I’ve tried! I’ve always loved gourmand-scented products, and this seriously smells good enough to eat. Vanilla can be a bit tricky; if done wrong, it can end up smelling synthetic. This is not the case with MOR, as the candied almond component gives it such a creamy depth. Besides its glorious aroma, it’s a beautiful moisturiser. I often get really dry patches around my elbows and knees (thanks Crossfit) and this manages to sooth and nourish those areas quite well. It’s also very light-weight and absorbs fast, which is a must for me. Some moisturisers that are marketed for hand and body use can work wonderfully for just one or the other, but this works just as well for both. I hadn’t given MOR a serious try before, but now I definitely want to pick up a few other products from their extensive line.
That’s it for June! Do share your favourites with me (even link me to your blog!), I’d love to know what you’ve been loving in the past month.
