I haven’t done a haul on the blog for a very long time, so I’m excited to show you some gorgeous products that I recently picked up! These goodies are from some of my all-time favourite brands, or as I call them, the three ‘Bs’ – Becca, Bite Beauty & BareMinerals. I’ve had a bit over a week and a half to try all of these products, so I will also be telling you what I think of each one of them so far.
This haul was a collaboration with Ry.com.au, an Australian online store that stocks some amazing brands across makeup, skincare, haircare and lots more. They offer some great competitive prices (I think Becca is cheapest on their website), price-matching and international shipping. Let’s see what I chose!
I already own the pressed version of this gorgeous highlighter, but I wanted the liquid version for a more sheer, skin-like option; and also to mix with my foundations should I want some extra glow. This is so stunning – I tap it on with my ring finger over my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and my cupid’s bow. It leaves this lit-from-within glow to the skin, and the pump is super easy to control so you don’t end up with lots of product. It also applies nicely with a beauty blender. I haven’t tried it mixed in with foundation yet, but I’ll keep you posted!
Becca Lowlight Sculpting Perfector*, $52.80
This is a Becca product I had heard nothing about, so it made me a bit nervous to try it – I knew it was going to be either really crap or a really pleasant discovery; and I’m glad to say it’s the latter. It’s basically a cream contour that has no glitter in it, but it’s not matte either as it has a tiny bit of a sheen. The shade comes off a little bit more warm in photos than it is in real life, but it’s a happy medium – not too warm and not too cool. This cream has a very sheer, light consistency, so it’s definitely one that needs to be built up, but that’s what I like about it – it’s very hard to go overboard! The first time I tried it I was very unsure about it overall, but now that I’ve used it a few times, I’m really enjoying it. It sculpts and adds dimension in a very natural way. I might review this one in more depth so you can see swatches and it on my face.
I had already picked up one of these in the shade Hazelnut in my Sephora haul back in April, and I’d been dying to get another shade, so picking it up was a no-brainer. Hazelnut is quite a warm brown shade, and I wanted something a little bit lighter and less brown, and Pecan is just perfect! Pecan is described as a muted peachy brown, which is highly pigmented and imparts a soft shine. This shade looks dark in the tube but on my lips it’s a stunning nude. It feels super hydrating and lightweight on the lips, but doesn’t slide around. The Butter Cream lipsticks are incredible; the formula is everything you could want in an everyday lipstick! I’ve got my eyes on a couple more shades…
One of the Bite Beauty lipstick formulas I’d been dying to try was the Luminous Crème formula, as I’d heard amazing things! Well, I’m happy to report it’s true – these lipsticks apply and wear beautifully. I love both of these shades (especially Date) and have been carrying this duo with me for the last two weeks. I was a little bit worried about the size at first, but they’re so easy to apply (and precise), I really want to get the Lingonberry/Tangerine duo too.
I hadn’t tried anything from the Marvelous Moxie range, so I couldn’t resist a new lip liner as I had already gone to town with lipsticks. Exhilarated is a warm pink, and comes in a wind-up mechanical pencil format. The formula is completely matte but still creamy enough that it glides onto the lips with ease; definitely what you want in a lip liner to avoid it moving around. This one really locks into place, and worn all over the lips it can be a tiny bit drying but not too bad. I have to admit it’s not the nicest tasting lip liner… yuck! I really like the packaging though, as it has a silicone grip that makes it easy to grab.
As you can tell, I’m really enjoying every single one of these products! Now onto the service. Even though it wasn’t my first time shopping with Ry, I would like to mention there were a few hiccups with my order. Firstly, the package was sent to the wrong state, so I waited two weeks for it to arrive as they had to wait for it to be returned to the sender, before re-sending it to the correct address. Secondly, some products may appear to be in stock on the website, but sometimes they’re not. This happened a previous time I had shopped with them, and this time around too. It’s not a huge deal, but something to keep in mind – you may add things to your cart, then get a notification the next day saying the product is actually out of stock; at which point, they’re happy to send what they do have in stock if you need it urgently, but this means you’ll have to pay $6.95 for postage again to be sent that one item once they replenish their stock. In both instances for me, the product came back in stock one or two days later, so it wasn’t a big deal; I just opted to wait and be sent my order at once. Again – just something to keep in mind! On previous occasions while dealing with them, I found their customer service to be really pleasant and I will continue to shop with them.
Have you tried any of these products?
