Thought I’d start things off with a Monthly Favourites so you can see what products I’ve been reaching for lots and lots this month, and so that you can see what I’m about. A couple of these are newbies in my collection, others are old, firm favourites of mine. March was a busy month, so I reached for the products I know are fail proof – we all need those to fall back on! Let’s get started.
I have been loving this CC cream sick for a year now, and I am almost out. I’ve tried my fair share of BB/CC creams and this is by far the best one I’ve come across. It’s a very runny, silky product, that could almost pass as a foundation. It provides light to medium coverage, feels lightweight on the skin, and manages to nicely even things out. It also lasts a solid 7-8 hours on my normal skin. It’s healthy, luminous looking skin in a tube. I use the shade 33 Beige Rose and it’s a pretty darn good match. If you can find a match (Bourjois aren’t known for catering to a large number of skin-tones), then you need it in your life!
You have probably seen this sleek tube about a million times, but if you haven’t, then I feel bad for ya gurl! This concealer is the bomb dot com. No joke. I use the shades Custard for my under eye area, and Ginger for spot concealing. It provides fantastic coverage, is comfortable on the skin, blends out easily, and it does not even crease!
Hoola is life… I had never been into bronzer until this came along (OMG I know, but some people aren’t into blush and I also find that weird). It’s too bad I only came to this conclusion three months ago. What took me so long?! I am sorry, Hoola, my loyal friend. OK enough – this stuff is actually good. I had heard this too many times to care until the 2014 Boxing Day sales came around and some of the Benefit Christmas sets were discounted. Long story short, I got it in the mail and couldn’t put it down – it’s real love guys. Not too orange at all, ideal for warming up the face and contouring. Plus, the brush is actually really good – don’t throw it out!
I got this mini in the Tarte Bon Voyage collectors set from Christmas last year. I just opened it early March as I went away on a work trip and liked the convenience of a mini. Well, this mascara is wonderful! It separates and lengthens my lashes really well, and it holds a mean curl. The formula is great too, it doesn’t smudge or flake. The brush manages to grab and coat all lashes quite easily, and what I really love is that it doesn’t put mascara all over my eyelids like other wands do. I will most definitely get the full size, once I use up all the other unopened mascaras in my stash… oops.
The Audacious lipstick formula has got to be one of the best on the market right now. Long lasting satin finish, non-drying, non-feathering… absolutely stunning lipsticks. Anita is a warm, medium-dark pink. For me, it’s a MLBB shade and I simply couldn’t put it down this month. It goes with every makeup look, and it’s perfect for the office or a night out.
A cheap and cheerful facial spray that smells ah-mazeballs! I picked this up in Melbourne earlier this month, as a recommendation from my friends who have really dry skin. I only seem to have really flaky, dehydrated skin while I’m in Melbs but I thought this would be lovely for my flight home and to keep in the handbag. It’s so refreshing and revitalising throughout the day, but it’s also a good one to set your makeup if you favour a dewy finish. I can feel myself going through bottles of this!
What attracted me to this synthetic brush is its tapered shape and that it’s super soft! I’ve been using this with my setting powder after my foundation, and as a bronzer brush. Because it’s tapered, it’s a good shape to also contour the hollows of the face. It’s sturdy and feels expensive; I’m sure it’ll last me a long time.
That’s it for March, beauties!
