I’ve been naughty. I had a rough week, so I decided to spoil myself – we all have one of those moments, right? When we just don’t care about anything, including our dwindling bank balance – #noragrats (yes, it’s misspelt, look up the hilarious meme on google!). No one will understand this better than my fellow beauty lovers, who love to reward themselves with a lipstick or two when the going gets tough!
Although I am not in Sydney, when there is a will, there is a way. I have to publicly thank Amelia from Beauty Locale (@beautylocale on IG, give her some love) – she is a beautiful soul and kindly offered to pick these up for me and send them my way – you have no idea how much I appreciate it! A million thank-you’s.
All three are products I had my eye on for a while, so it felt good to finally bite the bullet. Here is what I picked up.
The IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream ($58) is a product I’ve mentioned briefly in my June favourites and I was already about to run out. I said it then, and I’ll say it now – you know you truly love a product when you feel the need to rush out and buy a replacement. This time around, I got the large bottle (I wear the shade Medium), which contains 32ml of product. It provides medium to full coverage that lasts the day, and looks like skin. Plus, it has SPF 50 which is great, especially in sunny North Queensland. It’s hard to get a hold of, but if you can, definitely give it a go.
It’s no secret I’m obsessed with Marc Jacobs New Nudes Lip Gel ($43) in Role Play – the perfect my-lips-but-better shade, so I couldn’t resist the nude rose perfection that is Eat Cake – especially with that name! I love cake… And I love this shade. It manages to bring life back to my face, feels like a balm and allows you to build up the opacity. It’s also not something I would usually pick, but I am glad I did, as I own nothing similar to it. It’s the perfect everyday lippy and it will suit most skin tones.
Until now, I was convinced that Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita ($30) was an elusive, mythological creature that everyone wanted to magically come across but never did (kinda like unicorns). Turns out it does exist, and I bagged the very last one – YESSSS! There have been 3 different releases (all 3 different tones of rose, ranging from dusty to mauve, to chestnut), and I think mine is the second release. It’s definitely got a lot more brown to it than I initially anticipated, but I dig it. I’ve only worn it once so far, but I did notice on first impressions it’s very easy to apply and it’s comfortable enough on the lips, coming from someone who can’t stand dryness. So happy to own this and definitely want some of her newly released shades when they eventually arrive in Australia in 2020.
Have you tried any of these? What have you recently hauled?
