What a month November was. All I can say is it was busy, busy, busy. I did some travelling, a bit of shopping, had my birthday just last week (turned 25 on the 25th) and work was and still is super hectic. It flew by! Before we know it Christmas will be here, exciting times!
A good 90% of the stuff I’m about to show you is NEW and EXCITING and I love it all and couldn’t put it down! Let’s have a look.
I received the Estée Lauder Double Wear To Go Foundation* a week into the month and let’s just say my beloved IT Cosmetics CC cream has been gathering dust… I never thought I would say those words! Having heard nothing about this new EL offering besides seeing it in Kendall Jenner’s hot little hands in the ad, I applied it as soon as I got it out of the box and I instantly fell in love. It comes packaged in a very travel-friendly, hygienic compact, and you basically dispense a pump of the product by pressing the button. I plan on doing a full review so I don’t want to give too much away as of yet, but I love the medium but buildable coverage this provides, how luminous and even it makes my skin look and that it wears so well through the day. LOVE!
I talked about the Marc Jacobs #InstaMarc Light Filtering Contour Powder in Mirage Filter in my Sephora Haul post earlier this month, and it’s safe to say it’s become a go-to. As much as I love my Kat Von D Shade & Light palette, I really like the ease of having just two powders to get the job done as opposed to a whole palette. If you get a chance to, swatch these powders in store – they are the softest, most finely milled powders I’ve ever felt! The yellow banana shade sets my under-eye concealer so well (no creasing at all!) and the contour powder has the perfect cool undertone to really carve out them cheekbones.
I had to include the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Radiant Bronze Light, because I’ve been relying on it to make me look alive on mornings I’m in a rush. I just apply my base and dust the bronzer along my cheeks, forehead and a little bit along my jaw line and nose. It’s such a stunning bronzer for this time of the year! I have a full review here if you want to see swatches.
On days I needed an easy to blend but hard to over-do blush, I reached for the Sigma Beauty Blush in Heavenly* for a gorgeous, matte peach flush. It’s not the softest blush I own, but it’s very easy to work with and lasts all day. I definitely want to explore Sigma makeup further!
I know what you’re thinking – another peachy blush, really?! Well, I couldn’t not include this one! The Antonym Organic Certified Baked Blush in Peach is not only stunning to look at, but it’s such a nice formula! Definitely one of my favourite recent discoveries.
I hauled this Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo in Fig/Date* from Ry.com.au a couple of months ago (initial thoughts here) and I can’t get over the dent I’ve put in this lipstick – it’s been my most used nude lipstick for that wash of peachy/rose natural-looking goodness (?) and *BOLD claim alert* I think it’s one of my favourite nudes EVER! While it doesn’t last the longest time on the lips (3-4 hours), it is lightweight, comfortable, hydrating and doesn’t emphasise any lip texture or dryness. I will have to re-purchase this duo as soon as I run out just for this shade.
I’ve made a new brush discovery and I am so pleased with myself – the newly released Real Techniques Deluxe Gift Set* for the holidays comes with a couple of old favourites as well as three set-exclusive brushes, my favourite being the Angled Highlighter Brush. My old under-eye setting powder brush of choice (the RT Setting Brush) has been replaced by this guy. I much prefer the shape of it for setting my concealer and I find it a lot softer, which is better for using it in such a delicate area. I’ve also used it to highlight (creams and powders) and to contour my nose. Highly recommend!
Thanks for sticking around this far – almost done! The very lucky last is the L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Heat Styling Spray I purchased towards the end of October, as I was in the market for a heat protecting spray. What attracted me to this and caused me to deviate from my usual Tony & Guy spray was its promise to add volume and lock out flyaways and humidity. So far I really, really like this stuff – I’m not too sure about the 3 day volume promise but it does help lock away flyaways and battle humidity quite well.
