The word that’s hot on everyone’s lips: ColourPop. I’d say ColourPop Cosmetics is, without a doubt, the brand of the moment. Great quality, cute packaging, inexpensive. Tick, tick, tick.
The beauty community went crazy when photos of the beautiful Hourglass bronzers emerged. If you follow me on Instagram (you better!), you would have seen a few photos of this stunning bronzer. Since posting the images, there hasn’t been a day I haven’t been asked how I feel about this product; so after vigorous testing and collecting my thoughts, here I am. In short, I love it. Period. Feel free to skip the rest of the review… just kidding!
This year so far, it’s been one of discovery in the beauty tools realm. I had always relied on my trusty Real Techniques brushes to get the job done, and they do it rather well. However, after countless hours of YouTube, watching brushes in action and having words such as ‘Sigma’ and ‘Zoeva’ thrown around, followed by phrases like ‘you need dis’, I decided to branch out. And boy, oh boy, I am glad I did.
Oh my goodness – I feel like I just posted my March favourites yesterday. What has happened?! *Insert month has flown by laments*. Seriously though, my tiny little blog has been live for a month now, and it’s been so fun, amazing and rewarding. Quick thank you to all of you who have taken the time to read my babbles and leave me comment! Here’s the créme de la créme of beauty products for the month of April.
When Sephora gives you 15% off… you take that 15% percent off – no questions asked. And so, I did. The “hit list” was meticulously put together, analysed, and over-thought. I wanted to have no regrets, and so far, I’m very happy with my fab 5! By no means did I go crazy, but I managed to get my hands on some gorgeous products I’d been coveting for so long. And the best part – I get to try some new brands.
Matte lip products can be a bitch. It seems to be something that is hard for cosmetics companies to nail, formula wise. Some matte products aren’t really matte and move around a lot, others dry your lips to the point they hurt. Some flake or just don’t seem to last… you get the drill! However, Bite Beauty have absolutely nailed this water resistant, matte lip formula – they’re unlike anything I’ve ever tried.
We’ve all seen those fun un-boxing YouTube videos of monthly subscription boxes; they’re supposed to be great value and a great way of trying new products. It all sounded great; but in Australia, thus far, I hadn’t seen any subscription services that caught my eye or that were worth the money… until I saw marie claire’s The Parcel all over Instagram late last year. The product selection looked amazing, and the price is right.
Who knew a little bit of coloured powder on the apples of the cheeks could liven-up your face and make you feel a million bucks? Blush is my favourite makeup item in the world, I could never have enough! It’s the one product that gets me really excited to do my makeup every morning; I love being able to decide what shade to wear each day. So when I saw Melissa’s post on her blog Loads of Lifestyle, I knew I had to participate. The tag was created by Kat from Kitsch Snitch and I’ve really enjoyed reading all about their favourites. Let’s get into it.
Thought I’d start things off with a Monthly Favourites so you can see what products I’ve been reaching for lots and lots this month, and so that you can see what I’m about. A couple of these are newbies in my collection, others are old, firm favourites of mine. March was a busy month, so I reached for the products I know are fail proof – we all need those to fall back on! Let’s get started. Read More
After almost a year of sharing my beauty faves and many a flatlay on Instagram, and constantly ‘um’ing and ‘ah’ing about a possible blog; I decided to officially become a beauty blogger! (Wow, that sounded a lot cooler in my head, I swear).
Whilst avidly exploring the depths of the beauty community, I’ve met some pretty amazing, supportive people, that I can ramble on and on about the latest beauty happenings with – without getting weird looks (you can’t tell through a screen). I’ve enjoyed it all too much, so I thought this was the next step.
MissNewBeauty is my little slice of blogosphere, where I will share with you my thoughts on different topics and products, including makeup, skincare, hair, tips I’ve picked up along the way, and lots more.
I hope to gain many more friends along the way, so let’s talk! Drop me a comment, email or connect with me on Instagram. I’d love to hear from you! Now… let’s get this blog thing happening, shall we?
