I took so long to accumulate enough empties worthy of a post, and even longer to write this, but here I am – my first ‘empties’ blog post. I feel like a real blogger now! All jokes aside, all my beauty junkies out there know there is no better feeling than using up a product – it shows commitment and dedication when we have so many of one specific item screaming our name! So, want to know what I think of these? And most importantly, will I repurchase them?
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
This stuff is pretty decent. As a reference, I have combination skin and this cleanser doesn’t leave me feeling oily, dry or irritated. It removes most products quite easily, and I’d say I’m now on my third bottle. It may not be as good as Bioderma, but it’s pretty close. Repurchase? Yes.
Grown Alchemist Polishing Facial Exfoliant
I went through a huge Grown Alchemist phase when the brand first made its way to my local Myer counter. What attracted me the most is the visually appealing packaging, and the brand’s claims to be all natural. This facial exfoliant is really nice – the exfoliating beads are small and it’s not too harsh at all. I liked using this in the shower. It made my skin feel soft and radiant afterwards, but I’m not sure I’d be ready to part with $49.95 again. Repurchase? No.
Maybelline Pure Dream BB Cream (Oily)
This is such a great BB cream for the price. It is light to medium coverage and I loved how much it took away any redness (especially around the nose) and had a lovely satin finish. It didn’t have the longest staying power, but for under $10, who’s complaining?! Repurchase? No – I have far too many base products to get through before I consider repurchasing anything!
Stila One Step Correct Primer
Even though it’s pricey at $52, this bottle lasted me for a whole year. I’ve featured this in my April favourites post and I still think it’s a fab product. It’s moisturising and provides a beautiful base to literally any foundation/BB cream/CC cream, etc. I’ve decided to try something new for now (beauty blogger duties), but I feel like this primer is something I could see myself running back to. Repurchase? Yes.
People For Plants Mist Toner
I was on my third bottle of this stuff – this certified organic, vegan toner is great! I used it by spraying it onto a cotton pad and smoothing onto the face. It left my skin feeling soothed, brightened and refreshed; I really feel it took away any remaining dead skin/dirt off my skin my cleanser may not have removed. It’s also nice to spritz on during the hotter months. Repurchase? Absolutely.
Soap & Glory Hand Food Hand Cream
As most Soap & Glory products, this stuff smells so good!!! It’s such a nice little hand cream to have in the handbag. I have talked about my obsession with hand cream before and how many I’ve tried, and I think this one is pretty nice – not the best, but it’s good! It’s fast absorbing and really hydrates. Repurchase? Yes.
Chi Chi Super BB Cream
I used up two tubes of this BB cream and I really did enjoy it. It provided lovely coverage, moisture and a dewy finish. This would be a fantastic choice for the winter, when skin is feeling dull and dehydrated; but as my skin has changed so much in the past few months (from normal to combination), I just can’t get away with the dewiness anymore… I just look like I’ve been dipped in oil – not a nice look IMO. Still a great product to try, especially if you have dry skin! Repurchase? No.
Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser
Unlucky for me, I don’t have a Daiso where I live, so I don’t have access to an affordable blush cleanser. I’ve used baby shampoo, I’ve used anti-bacterial soap, but nothing compares to the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser in my opinion. It makes the process so quick and easy, and it removes tough stains effortlessly. Repurchase? Yaaaaas.
Origins Super Spot Remover
If you’re looking for a ZOMG-over-night-miracle spot remover, this is not it. What this will do is make pimples less angry, and it’s pretty good at that. I’ve now branched onto Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion which is majorly raved about but I’ll be honest, I miss Origins’ offering. Maybe it’s cause I’m lazy (dipping the cotton bud vs squeeze bottle), maybe it’s cause my boyfriend says I look like I’ve put face paint on and thinks I look crazy (this stuff is clear)… or maybe I just feel like it did more for me. Repurchase? Yes.
This is it! I will probably have another empties post ready for you guys soon – let me know if you liked it! If you’ve done one of these posts lately, let me know and I’ll check it out.
